About the Job
St. John the Baptist has excellent part-time opportunities for nurturing, caring, positive individuals who love working with infants and toddlers, as part of a positive and supportive team. The primary responsibility is to keep the children happy, busy, and safe in a nurturing, Christian environment.
Shift available:
- 18 to 24 hours per week, both morning and afternoon shifts.
Duties:
- Assist in planning and supervising activities that promote the social, mental, physical, emotional and educational development.
- Maintain and monitor children to provide a safe and positive learning environment.
- Feeding and providing age-appropriate rest-times.
- Keeping records of each child’s progress, interests, and development.
- Maintaining contact with the children’s parents/guardians.
- Ensure the children maintain good hygiene and change diapers (infants & toddlers).
- Clean the childcare room to maintain a safe, orderly, and sanitary environment.
- Reports to the child care director.
Essential Skills:
- Good oral and written communication.
- Problem-solving.
- Working with others.
- A caring and compassionate attitude is a must.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Child care experience preferred.
- Must pass CPR and First Aid certification training, or hold current certifications.
- Ability to pass a background check.
ADA Physical Requirements:
- The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear.
- The employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods; use hands; reach with hands and arms.
- Close vision is required for paperwork and computer.
- Able to utilize computer keyboard, monitor, and telephone.
- This role classroom-type environment which may require the employee to bend and lift 40 pounds.
